Computer Organisation & Logic Design Lab

The objective of Computer Organisation & Logic Design (COLD) laboratory at [email protected] is to provide practical knowledge of data representation and digital logic circuits used in the computer system. The students explore general concepts in digital logic design their use in combinational and sequential logic circuit design. The students also learn the basic architecture of processing, memory and I/O organization in a computer system. The students learn the concept of assembly language programming using 8085/8086/8088 microprocessors and microcontroller kits with LCD displays. 

COLD consists of the following pieces of equipment:

  • 8086/8088 Microprocessor Trainer Kits with LCD Displays
  • Advanced Microcontroller Kits Intel 8051/31

  • 8279 Keyboard Display Controller Cards
  • 8287 DMA Study Cards
  • 8251 USART Study Cards
  • 74xx series ICs

The COLD equipments are sufficient for providing training to a batch of 60 students at a time.
