Dr. Bhartendu Nath Mishra

Prof Mishra is presently Dean, Research & Development and Industrial Consultancy at Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow and Proessor & Head, Department of Biotechnology at Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), Lucknow. He has nearly 30 years of experience in teaching and research including more than 13 years as Professor. Previously he has worked as Dean Administration of IET, Lucknow and Controller of Examination of AKTU, Lucknow. Prof Mishra has a strong network of national and International research collaborations. He has got funding for many research projects from various funding agencies. Prof Mishra has more than 100 quality research publications in National and International journals to his credit. He is one of those counted few academicians who started working in the area of bioinformatics when the research in this field in the Country was in its nascent stage and supervised one among first five Ph.D. Bioinformatics theses of the Country. His research article on 3D Bioprinting in Plant Science: An Interdisciplinary Approach, published in Trends in Plant Science (Journal Impact Factor=18.313), Cell Press, 2020, is the first concept of 3D Bioprinting of Plant cell. Its first proof of concept has recently been given by MIT, USA researchers. Recently, he published 2 articles in Seminars in Cancer Biology (Journal Impact Factor=15.707), Elsevier Press, 2021. His authored book on "3D Printing in Biotechnology", Elsevier Press will be appearing in the end of 2021 is also the first of its kind in the academic world. His edited book "Environmental Nanotechnology, Volume 5" in the book series "Environmental Chemistry for a Sustainable World", Springer Press has now been published in August 2021. Prof Mishra has supervised 200 M.Tech. theses and 14 Ph.D. theses and mentored 4 Post doctoral students. Prof Mishra has also served as reviewer of many research papers for reputed National and International journals. His significant research contributions were covered by leading Electronic and Print media including WIRED Magazine, Times of India, The Pioneer and Hindustan Times. The academic contributions of Prof Mishra were recognized and subsequently, he got elected as a Life member of The National Academy of Sciences, India, NASI, Allahabad in 2009, a highly prestigious and oldest Science Academy of India. Further, he received many honors/awards including Vishisht Samman for Outstanding Research and Development work in the area of Environment in 2010, Excellence in Innovation in Technical Education award in 2014 and Outstanding Contribution in Education award in 2015. He has been a member of Core Group on Biotechnology, Council of Science & Technology, UP for nearly a decade and reviewed the Biotechnology Policy of Jammu and Kashmir.
