Civil Engineering Department

The Department of Civil Engineering was established in the year 1985. In the ever changing scenario of modern day industry, the civil engineers are the ones who are bridging the gap between the normal civil engineers and the need of the modernization.

B.Tech, Civil Engineering program is approved by National Board of Accreditation (NBA).  An Expert Team conducted on-site evaluation of the programs from 27th to 29th September, 2019. The report submitted by the Expert Team was considered by the concerned Committees constituted for the purpose in NBA. The competent authority in NBA has approved the accreditation status to the Civil Engineering programs  Status Period of  Accredited Academic Years 2019-2020 to 2020-2021 and  2021-2022. In the year 2022, the NBA approval has been granted again for next three academic sessions 2022-2023, 203-2024 and 2024-2025.

Vision of Department

To provide globally competitive, high quality human resource having expertise in area of Civil Engineering and contribute towards development of technologies and innovations appropriate to sustainable economic growth and enrichment of quality of human life.

Mission of Department

M1. Impart value education to produce globally component Civil Engineers proficient extending industrial services.

M2. To introduce students to the latest trends in the field of Civil Engineering and open windows to see life problems.

M3. Upgrade and improve the academic infrastructure as well as ambience to nourish professional excellence.

The Department of Civil Engineering was established in the year 1985. In the ever changing scenario of modern day industry, the civil engineers are the ones who are bridging the gap between the normal civil engineers and the need of the modernization.

The Department has qualified and experienced faculty. The department has developed an excellence in various fields especially in the area of Transportation Engineering. The Transportation Engineering Section had carried out two AICTE, New Delhi sponsored Projects under the major scheme (Nationally coordinated Projects) in the area of "Urban Transport Environment Interaction" (25 Lakhs) & "Road Traffic Safety(37.5 Lakhs)" jointly with IIT Roorkee, PEC Chandigarh, MNNIT Allahabad and University of Bangalore respectively. Prof N B Singh also completed  one TAPTEC AICTE project of Rs 12 Lacs in 2005.  Earlier in the year 1990 AICTE had sanctioned Rs.17.5 Lacs for modernization of Traffic and Transportation Engineering Laboratory, & it is the only Laboratory in the UP Government State Colleges which has got Central assistance for the modernization. Dept. is being currently headed by Prof. Virendra Pathak. All the regular faculty members are Ph.D.  and have more than 30 years of teaching and research experience. The Department of Civil Engineering is approved as STATE TECHNICAL AGENCY for Pradhan Mantri Gramian Sadak Yojana, by the Central Government and UP Government. Prof. J.B. Srivastava is the Coordinator & Prof. A.K. Shukla is the Deputy Coordinator of the PMGSY Scheme. Department carries out consultancy projects worth Rs. one crore/annum. Presently Department has sanctioned strength of nine faculty members. The department has intake of 60 students every year. Many of the senior faculty members are holding post of Deans/Associate Deans in Abdul Kalam Technical University. Department has been given enough funds for up-gradation of labs under TEQIP scheme. Prof S.P Shukla and Prof V. Pathak are members of various committee of AICTE and NBA.
