ANKURAN'18

 Electronics and Communication Engineering Department Fest Ankuran'18 under Society of Electronics Exploration Department (SEED) experienced an extravaganza of robot events along with fun events that went on whole daylong on the dates 17-18 November, 2018.

With the help and support of our respected faculty menbers the fest went on smoothly and faculties as well joined us in various events like Robo Race and RoboWar.

The fest had following technical events with more than 20 teams participating:

Ø 

RoboRace: Students made their own bots and competed against each other in crossing paths laid with obstacles in least time. The arena was prepared by 2-3 year students.

Ø 

RoboSumo: The students tested the robustness of their bots in the sumo ground designed for bots.

Ø 

Robo Soccer: A modified version of football where two robots made one team and defended their goal while shooting the ball into the other goal!

Rules for Robo sumo are as follows

EVENT NAME: ROBO SUMO

Objective: Push the opponent out of the arena.

 

Team Structure: A team can have maximum 5 participants.

 

Event Structure:

  • The event is a one on one duel.
  • Matches will be in knockout format.
  • Every duel will have 3 rounds of 3 min each.

Robot Specifications

  • The bot dimension should not exceed 35cm*35cm*25cm.
  • The weight of the bot should not exceed 5kg.
  • Readymade toy cars are not allowed.
  • The bot must not leave behind any of its parts during the whole run else the team will be disqualified.

General Rules:

  • Teams have to be present at the arena 10 minutes before start of the event. Absence will result to direct disqualification of the team.
  • Participants should build a single robot.
  • Robots will be tested for dimensions and safety before event.
  • Robot should not damage the arena.
  • Round 3 will not be held if any of the teams is unable to score.
  • Human intervention is not allowed in between play.
  • Decision of judges will be final and bounding.

 

Judging Criteria:

  • 10 pts: To push the bot into White Zone.
  • 20 pts: To push the bot outside the White Zone.
  • -5 pts: Deduction for defensive play.

Power:

  • Power supply for the bot should be a maximum of 60W.
  • Robots can be powered electrically only.
  • Robot can be wired or wireless.
  • The length of wire should be long enough to cover the whole arena and wire should be slack all the time.
  • Participants are advised to bring their own extensions for power supply.

Criteria for Victory:

The last team standing will win the match.

The team with the greater number of points at the end of allotted time will be the winner. In case of a tie, the team with lesser negative points will be the winner.

The fest as well had various activities like ramp walk cum talent showcase chance, find y - a game to improve social connections, mini cricket, cup and ball. All this was accompanied by music and enthusiastic students to help prepare arena, decorate the department and participated in the event.

Annual department fest of Electronics Engineering Department of IET Lucknow was organised on 18th-19th November 2018. With a total of 15 technical and non-technical events, the students enjoyed and learnt great skills.

 

ANUKARAN

Autonomous Robotics, Manual and RC robotics was taught to first year members in multiple workshops and they were guided to build their own robots to participate in events. Major Highlights were:

  • ROBO SOCCER
  • ROBO SUMO
  • ROBO RACE

ANKURAN

The event was inaugurated by Head Of Department Dr. Subodh Wairya in the presence of Dr. S. Sinha, Head Mechanical Enginering Depaertment & Dean PG, Dr. V.K.Singh and other faculty members.

The event concluded with awards and certificates to all winners and participants by the faculty members.
